Corporate Accounting Director who will manage the closing and consolidation process at both the domestic and international points and our Shared Services platform (which may ultimately go global). This person will work closely with the cross-functional team to enhance current processes and continually improve efficiency while mitigating risk. Responsibilities Assist in establishing short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. 5% Be a SME on all technical aspects that effect the specific trial balances including: stock compensation, functional currency, sub consolidations. 5% Create educational and personal development plans for each individual on the team. Participate in management of financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. 5% Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives. 5% Ensure compliance with GAAP Policies and controls on a consistent basis throughout the organization and owns the communication required between entities to ensure compliance. 10% Manage a large team and coordinate internationally with accounting teams in various locations; establishment of global communication and governance will be critical to the role. o Continuous evaluation on how best to enhance and maximize efficiencies in the company’s accounting process: business unit segmentation, increase profitability, automate processes to include Monthly Management Deck. o Automate managerial metrics, i.e. Adjusted EBITDA, Costs of Collection. 5% Management of direct reports including selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct reports. 5% Monitor and analyze monthly and quarterly operating results versus prior periods and budget to support the MD&A. 5% Oversee daily operations of Encore's Accounting Departments. 20% Oversee daily operations of the General Ledger; coordinate closely with the Transformation Team to develop and maintain an ERP process and create efficiencies within the organization; including identifying and implementing costs saving initiatives. 5% Qualifications Education: Required: Bachelor; Accounting or Finance Languages: Required: Fluent in English Work Experience: Required: 10+ years in a large publicly traded company environment. Microsoft Office, Outlook. Leadership. Preferred: International Accounting experience strongly preferred.
