Foundational Science Faculty College of Medicine Central Michigan University Twelve-month; Medical Faculty The Central Michigan University College of Medicine is seeking highly qualified faculty members for multiple positions with broad training capable of teaching in an integrated curriculum. The successful candidate will assume a role in the ongoing improvement of a highly integrated, cross-disciplinary, clinical presentation and inquiry-based medical school curriculum that includes Case-Based and Team-Based Learning. These are predominantly teaching positions with scholarship expectations related to teaching and learning. Disciplines needed are Biochemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Pathology and Ethics. These positions can be at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor rank, depending on credentials, and are available immediately. Part time opportunities exist for interested applicants. Start date is negotiable. Required Qualifications: Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/DO); a record of scholarly activity with the expectation of continued scholarly activity. Experience in health professions education and commitment to innovative approaches to education and learning; ability to facilitate interactive learning in large and small group settings; strong collaborative and communication skills; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity. Applicants applying for advanced rank should have a demonstrated record of exceptional medical school teaching in large and small group settings and a demonstrated record of scholarly activity. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cross-disciplinary teaching in an integrated medical school curriculum based on patient and/or problem-based medical education. Experience with, or a strong knowledge of, pedagogical approaches such as team-based learning. Scholarly activity in educational research, bench, or clinical research.
