Studio Art and Design Foundations Instructor

The School of Design, South Dakota State University, seeks applications for a temporary, part-time, non-tenure-track teaching positions at the Instructor level for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, starting January 2018. Opportunities are available to teach 1-4 courses per semester, contingent upon enrollment and program need. Courses include various studio courses, both 2D and 3D, and foundation courses in the Studio Arts Program as well as the School of Design. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned courses in Studio Art and Design Foundations within the School of Design at South Dakota State University, contingent upon enrollment and program need. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • MFA in Studio Art. • Experience teaching in Art/Design Foundations and Studio Art at the university level. • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Two years of successful experience teaching in Studio Art and Design Foundations at the university level. • Expertise in Studio Art and sustained professional creative activity demonstrated through a portfolio. • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
