About this job
One of the largest meat manufacturing companies in the Hampton Roads area is hiring for Maintenance Mechanics and Refrigeration Technicians. These are Direct Placement opportunities (Not contract or contract-to-hire).
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6AM-3:30PM OR 3PM-12AM (***Special note: They are currently working upwards of 80 hours per week. Candidates must be comfortable with working extended amounts of overtime when necessary.***)
Pay: $18-21.71/HR with yearly pay evaluations (same pay and same hours for both positions)
Maintenance Mechanic Duties:
-Installs replacement belts, filters, gears, chains and valves
-Rebuilds valves, pumps, and gearboxes
-Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic machine problems to make repairs
-Repairs machine guards, bolt replacement and breakdown due to mechanical wear
-Welds machine components
-Preventative maintenance such as lubricating parts, drive chains, etc.
-Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
Refrigeration Technician Duties:
-Operation of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels /re-circulators, purgers, evaporators / RMAU's, and heat exchangers
-Keep logs of daily operations and events for multiple engine rooms and refrigeration equipment
-Maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels / re-circulators, purgers, evaporators / RMAU's, heat exchangers, and control valves / isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacturer's guidelines
