Lab technician - Intermediate for Quality Control Seed Health
Individual will work as a member of the Quality Control Seed Health testing team in Woodland, CA. The individual must adhere to all Monsanto safety regulations while working. Individual will work in the Sample Management department and also will be required to routine Bacteriology, PCR, ELISA, Mycology and/or Greenhouse assays in a fast paced lab environment according to established SOPs. Normal daily activities may include the following: word/excel data entry and LIMS database management, preparing samples for testing; maintaining equipment and lab inventory; maintaining stocks of buffers, media and other reagents; general housekeeping including dishwashing; performing routine tests. Contractors maybe asked to complete independent projects alongside routine work. Other duties may be required as necessary. It is preferred that contractors have demonstrated sterile techniques and have a minimum of 1 year of experience using molecular techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication and effective time management is critical. Education requirements: BS with one year related experience. Contractors maybe asked to work overtime or occasional weekends to meet business needs.
