Medical Assistant

Job Description:

Family practice is seeking a technically focused Medical Assistant to provide excellent patient care. Working within a clearly defined scope this medical assistant will work alongside an experienced family practitioner.

Responsibilities:

• Rooming Patients.
  *Completing prescription refills.
  *Taking vitals from each patient.
  *Updating patient information and charts
  *Managing the physician's schedule.
  *Completing work associated with obtaining prior authorizations for prescriptions.
  *Assisting with minor office duties such as documentation and computer work.
  *Assisting with other clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications:

-Must have an MA Certification
-Credentials accepted include: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant, NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant, AMT Registered Medical Assistant, and NAHP National Registered Certified Medical Assistant. Once credentialed, credentials must be maintained in good standing.
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
-Prefer someone with EHR experience, Nextgen a plus.
-Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
-Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
