SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a Technician to respond to after sales technical support calls. They would have to respond to the calls over the phone or by traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. The Technician would also help perform commissioning activities.

Commissioning
* Travel to customer sites and perform commissioning activities. Travel, will be, on average, 25-50% of the time.
* Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. Coordinate with site manager the completion of tasks.
* Complete commissioning reports and other documentation and provide them to management.
* Report to Solar Engineering Manager any technical questions or changes to work performed.
* Complete expense reports and submit to management.
* Develop ideas to decrease costs and increase efficiency during commissioning activities. Report ideas to Solar Engineering Manager.
* Inform the customer of any new features and/or product improvements on our client's products.

After-sales Support
* Serve as the main contact for all technical after sales questions.
* Respond to all incoming calls/emails related to technical problems that have developed after commissioning.
* Work with customers to solve all inverter issues and offer technical advice for site.
* Resolve issues by phone or through e-mail. May have to travel to site to resolve issues.
* Request assistance from management if help with after-sales questions if needed.
* Use test bench to help resolve technical questions or problems.
* Track and ensure that all after-sales calls are recorded in company software for complete customer records.
* Make sure all documentation, pictures and other related files to an incident are properly stored in the client's database server.
* Monitor and analyze component/product failures rates and provide feedback to the After-sales and R&D departments in Spain
* Develop inverter troubleshooting guides and training documents by testing the inverter with different faults for O&M personal.
* Develop after-sales work instructions for our client's internal use.
* Review production and alarm reports and report potential problems to Solar Engineering Manager. Prepare reports on customer's complaints and/or concerns for product improvement/design ideas and report them to the Solar Engineering Manager.
* Assist in maintaining inventory and levels. Assist in annual inventory review and P&L.
* Ensure test bench remains in clean and optimum working order. Maintain and set up test bench for all solar products.

Other responsibilities:
* Provide training to customers or O&M Personnel. Training may consist of technical inverter operations, documentation or product. Prepare training documentation.
* Ensure correct inventory levels and components are in stock. Inform manager if inventory or components are needed.
* Repair material returned from customer.
* Prepare reports and documents for management.
* Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
