About this job

We are looking for a Technician to respond to after sales technical support calls. They would have to respond to the calls over the phone or by traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. The Technician would also help perform commissioning activities.

Job Duties:

  • Travel to customer sites and perform commissioning activities. Travel, will be, on average, 50% of the time. - Passport needed
  • Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. Coordinate with site manager the completion of tasks.
  • Complete commissioning reports and other documentation and provide them to management.
  • Serve as the main contact for all technical after sales questions.
  • Respond to all incoming calls/emails related to technical problems that have developed after commissioning.
  • Work with customers to solve all product issues and offer technical advice for site.
  • Resolve issues by phone or through e-mail. May have to travel to site to resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical field required, preferably in Electronics, Electronics Engineering or solar/PV required. 3+ years relevant experience required, in lieu of degree.
  • OSHA-10, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, QEW certificates preferred.
  • Must have at least one year experience as an electronics technician or Field Service Tech. Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred.
  • Electrical knowledge/training required. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures and regulations
  • Must have troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of NEC codes that relate to PV installations preferred.
  • Experience responding and resolving technical questions over the phone preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally in response to customer calls.
  • Must be available to travel on short notice and have active passport.
