Chemist - Organic Analysis - Full-time / Part-time

A leading provider of quality and safety solutions from auditing and inspection, to testing, quality assurance and certification is currently looking for a qualified candidate to join their team.

An opportunity has arisen for a Chemist to join this global organization within the Organic Analysis Division. Organic Analysis plays a key role in characterizing what chemistry and functional groups are present in a wide range of materials.

Requirements:
- 3 years+ as an analytical chemist
- Strong HPLC/LC experience
- Experience with GPC or SEC
- method development experience with chemical materials
- BS or MS in Chemistry or other scientific discipline

Typical Day: this person will be managing 2-5 projects at a time. They have turnaround times of 10-12 business days. They are focused around method development activities and will be working with polymers using LC and GPC (gel permeation chromatography) or SEC (size exclusion chemistry). they will not have direct reports now but will work with project partners. In time they will train people and possible have a direct report.

There is a variety of work here in this group and they will be doing method development for customers to use or method development to use internally to execute the analysis of the samples.

1. working on formulated products to find the root of a problem
2. looking for impurities know and unknown in materials
3. looking at additive in plastics and lubricants
4. doing work with materials that are leaching
