Environmental Technician

Entry-level Environmental Technician opening with a medium-sized Environmental Consulting Firm.

Will work in the Air Emissions Testing & Monitoring Group, which supports a variety of heavy industrial clients throughout Illinois and surrounding states in the Midwest region.

Field-based role with travel to client sites required, based on project needs. Candidates do not need specific emissions testing experience. Two-weeks of paid training will be provided during the on-boarding process.

Job Description:

• Drive company vehicle to client site with team members to set up and run air emissions testing and monitoring.
• Equipment maintenance and calibrations, assembly, operation and repair of emissions testing equipment.
• Load equipment for transportation, set-up equipment at the test site and demobilize equipment when testing is complete.
• Assist engineers in air quality testing procedures.
• Utilize programs to analyze, evaluate, and monitor process and point source emissions for commercial, industrial, and utility operations.
• Contribute positively to health, safety, environmental and quality programs by performing work safely and adhering to all safety standards and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline preferred. Minimum High School Diploma required.
• Previous field testing, physical labor or construction experience preferred.
• Flexibility to meet travel requirements
• Must be comfortable working at heights
• Ability to work well in a team

Additional Information:

All travel expenses covered by company. Employees receive additional $47 Per Diem payments for projects that require overnight travel, and will also be paid at the hourly rate for time spent driving to client sites.

OSHA 10-Hour Training/Certification provided during on-boarding, paid for by company.
