Job Description:

Performs a variety of operations in preparing, sealing and testing aircraft fuselage and structural components, using a thorough knowledge of aircraft sealing techniques and various sealant characteristics such as storage, application, tack-free and cure times.
* Performs aircraft sealing operations according to oral and written instructions shown in drawings and work instructions.
* Performs any rework required to include removing sealant, re-cleaning and re-sealing to prevent leaks and failure of parts to meet specifications.
* Requires the use of a variety of hand and power tools, and sealing tools such as spatulas, scrapers, rollers, sealing gun, abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
* Ensures the use of appropriate technical references and tools in performing paint and sealing duties
* Perform cleaning and maintenance of all currently used painting or sealing equipment.
* Follows approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft structures, consulting original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) technical data, and work package instructions.
* Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerance

Manufacturing Facility/Hangar environment
M-F
Must be open to first and second shift

Qualifications:

High School/ GED

Mechanical/electrical experience a plus
Structures experience a plus.

Journeyman Technician Role requiring Intermediate Skills to perform most of the standard tasks within the technical area assigned to.

Generally 2-4 years or more experience in area of responsibility with assembly, mechanical, electrical or aircraft structures as well as able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
