Civil Designer

SUMMARY

Responsible for creating layouts and design work to be used for Bid, Electrical Permitting, and Construction Documents for Solar PV Plant. Apply advanced techniques in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and standard design applications utilizing this equipment. Highly motivated self-starter, the ability to handle stress/constructive feedback, effective leadership skills, and ability to resolve moderately complex engineering/technical problems. Ability to plan, organize and schedule own work with only limited supervision. Perform tasks or duties as assigned by Supervisor, including work at higher or lower levels as needed. Candidate shall work with or without an engineer as needed to create/design Site Plans & electrical documents for submittal of permit or construction drawing packages from company provided scope.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for design/drafting on projects of moderate to large size and complexity with little to no assistance required. 3D experience is a plus but not a requirement.
• Has comprehensive knowledge of design/drafting concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Create scaled and non-scaled plan drawings, have knowledge of revision concepts, title block information, and excellent drafting presentation.
• Responsible for coordination with other disciplines to gather and distribute required data.
• May review and check drafting deliverables to ensure final product is accurate and of high quality.
• Capable of providing complex design solutions on projects.
• Prepare slope analysis and grading quantities.
• Work with electrical engineers to develop electrical design deliverables such as site plans, conduit plans, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, wire schedules, equipment installation details, bill of materials, etc.
• Assist in developing and maintaining electrical CAD standards. Update library drawings for the Company and assure that the proper design standards are followed on all project drawings

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience using AutoCAD 2015 or newer to develop electrical drawings.
• Relevant experience in producing drawings including grading plans, slope analysis, site layouts, electrical schematics, conduit plans, wiring diagrams, and termination drawings.
• Experienced in developing a Bill of Materials from electrical drawings using Data Extraction.
• Able to perform quality work within deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively both in a written and verbal manner with management and team members.
