About this job

We are hiring for a 2nd shift lab technician for a direct hire role. Must be open to travel as you will visit other facilities at least once a quarter.

Job Description

  • Follow written SOPs and verbal instructions
  • Receive,prepare, and analyze samples of material in the lab
  • maintain and calibrate lab equipment taking samples and testing the samples
  • Complete and accurate data entry in written logs and electronic database
  • Prepare samples and reagents used for analyses
  • Perform analyses on samples
  • Document analytical results in lab notebook
  • Enter analytical data into electronic data entry system
  • Operate various GC and GCMS Software (Agilent/HP and Perkin Elmer)
  • Perform housekeeping and instrument calibration
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of lab tech experience.
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in a science field
  • One year minimum experience in performing lab analyses
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills
  • Organized approach and attention to details
  • Proficient reading, writing and math skills
  • Knowledge of chemistry as it relates to other chemicals and health and safety
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • General working knowledge of bomb calorimeters, gas chromatographs, ICPs, GCMS, automatic titrators, pH meters, flash point testers, manual titrations and simple distillation apparatus. Wet chemistry techniques.
  • Physical requirements include constant standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, hand/eye coordination, and other actions required to perform job functions.

Shift:


Train on 1st Shift M-F 7-3pm for at least 4 weeks minimum

Move to 2nd shift M-F 3-11pm
