Sr. Solid Waste Engineer

Job Description: Qualifications:

 5-10 years of relevant management experience such as working knowledge and demonstrated consulting experience, business specific to the solid waste industry, including landfill, air compliance, landfill design and permitting, etc. Experience dealing with staff and knowledgeable of the California landfill permit processes is a plus.

 Environmental or Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree required.

 California P.E (civil) registration preferred

 Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software required.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a requirement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Field work including surveys, inspections, GPS data gathering, etc.  Office based tasks including but not limited to: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit application preparation, etc.  Business development including but not limited to: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.

 As a fully competent engineer or scientist in all aspects of the functional area of the assignments, plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and modification of standard techniques.  Independently performs assignments with instructions as to the results expected.  Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.  Will typically manage 2-3 small projects or tasks involving activities of several persons and subcontractors  Participates in business development activities Work Environment: Work Monday through Friday 40+ hours a week. Role will include in office and field work Qualifications: P.E. is required Performance Expectations: Heavy interaction with Sunrise Landfill. l be monitored daily on expectations and up to clients standards
