About this job

Seeking a Laboratory Technician to repair, test, adjust, or install laboratory equipment. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for:

  • Routine maintenance and laboratory support.
  • performing inspections and minor PMs (cleaning, filter and battery replacements, etc.) on Freezers, Refrigerators, Incubators, vacuum pumps, monthly monitoring of other mics lab equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems
  • Carries out duties and behaves in a manner consistent with GMP and Laboratory Daily Expectations.
  • Set up and test medical equipment to ensure that it functions properly
  • Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions
  • Repair and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components, replacing worn parts such as gaskets and seals in watertight electrical equipment
  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications
  • Operate and maintain steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed
  • Organize and assemble routine or specialty instrument trays or other sterilized supplies, filling special requests as needed

Qualifications:

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to function as a team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong data and time management skills with attention to details.
  • Strong desire to achieve team and individual goals
  • Able to lift 35 lbs
  • Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent experience/training required
  • 2-4 years of experience required
