BASIC PURPOSE: The position is primarily responsible for addressing the advanced statistical and analytical needs of the marketing department and reports to the Marketing Manager within the Loyalty group of the Marketing Department. The position is also responsible for the application of advanced machine learning, optimization of database queries and collaboration on analytical projects. The ideal candidate possesses a strong uncompromising focus on ensuring a quality product is delivered with attention to detail and a high degree of creativity and latitude.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply advanced machine learning algorithms (neural networks, decision trees, support vector machines, cluster analysis, clustering algorithms, ANOVA, Bayesian statistics and SVM) and statistical techniques to build, maintain, and improve on multiple decision systems
  • Develop and perform attrition analysis, time-series and survival models
  • Create stored procedures to automate data processes
  • Optimize database queries to produce results in shorter amounts of times
  • Utilize Natural Language Processing and text mining to perform Sentiment Mining and Analysis
  • Forecast and develop future customer segmentation based on various dimensions.
  • Help develop requirements, architectural processes, standards and guidelines, specifically around Data Lake
  • Work with Oklahoma State University to develop machine learning algorithms to improve decision making process
  • Design, develop and execute analytical models that support the business needs
  • Determine appropriate analytics methodologies to solve business problems
  • Execute campaign and response tracking
  • Perform ad-hoc database mining and queries
  • Proactively audit, investigate, and provide actionable insights through data analysis for growth opportunities, analysis will span across different channels (e.g. SMS, mobile, push, and receipts)
  • Collaborate on analytical projects with various entities, as applicable
  • Provide fleet sales analysis (e.g. driver autonomy, fuel stop choice, campaign response, etc.)
  • Collaborate and provide analytical insight for other Love’s business units including: Risk, Factoring, Operations, Fleet Sales, etc.
  • Perform statistical and analytical activities (campaign analysis, breakeven analysis, predictive model development, determine effective testing of promotions, etc.) to support the marketing department and utilize Tableau to develop dashboards for senior management
  • Analysis of large and complex retail data sets
  • Supervise and direct a team of Marketing Analysts
  • Other duties assigned as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field required and 7 years of predictive analytics/statistical experience or
    • Master’s in Management Information System, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field required and 2 years of predictive analytics/statistical experience
  • Certifications
    • SAS® Predictive Modeling Certificate required
    • SAS® Advanced SAS® Programmer Certificate required
    • SAS® Base SAS® Programmer Certificate required
