About this job
The Director of Business Finance will have the responsibility of planning (both high level and unit), forecasting, analysis, reporting and ensuring controls are in place for a specific business within the Sears or Kmart retail formats. This business routinely partners with the BU CFO and leadership team in monitoring and addressing any issues related to the financial performance for the business.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the forecasting process for merchandise disbursements by understanding the underlying drivers and collaborating with other teams (inventory, supply chain, business-units, etc.)
* Drive the forecasting process & modeling for non-merchandise disbursements
* Track, review, and explain variances of actual disbursements vs. forecasts
* Assist in the overall cash flow forecasting process of the company by connecting disbursements with financial statements
* Develop process to develop disbursement forecasts for multiple scenarios
* Provide to senior management recommendations regarding optimizing disbursements and pertinent economic and qualitative impact to the company
Required Skills:
* MBA or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial calculations
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Strong decision making and problem solving skills required based upon financial and statistical results
* Ability to read, interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data to perform the duties previously listed
* A minimum of seven years experience in Financial Planning, Strategic Business Decision Making and analysis.
* Ability to utilize planning and analysis applications and personal computer software.
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Job Requirements:
* Experience reviewing large volumes of data and identifying trends and developing actionable insights
* Experience communicating findings and recommendations to high levels of the senior management
* Demonstrated ability to establish processes and influence others to achieve desired results
* MBA preferred; will consider candidates with undergrad degrees but directly relevant experience
* Over 10 years of related experience
* 18 years of age or older
