Entry Mountain Dispatch - Northstar California Resort - Winter Seasonal - Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary: The Dispatcher will coordinate emergency response situations through radio communications, land line communications, and equipment and personnel management. Written documentation of key functions within the resort and notification to management of progress and anticipated delays. Dispatchers will ensure timely customer service by facilitating reports of incidents to affected parties, keeping track of equipment and updating responders of changes due to mountain operation concerns. Digitally track all lift operations, snowmobile traffic, medical calls, grooming clearance. Assist with administrative work for the patrol team including time and labor, purchasing, and other office work as assigned.

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Facilitate communications between on mountain services, (Lift Ops, Lodges, etc.) qualified medical personnel,and Ski Patrol.
• Facilitate communication between guest services, other functions, and Security to promote timely responses.
• Monitor heavy (2 line) phone and two-way radio traffic and make announcements as required by changing conditions and situations.  
• Updating social media with the dynamic mountain information

• Leading larger projects like radio inventory and updating SOPs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point.
• A clear speaking voice; a clear command and understanding of the English language.
• The ability to assign patrollers to duties with authority
• Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries in a coherent and professional fashion. Must have the ability to multi-task and perform during stressful situations.
• Must possess the basic mathematical skills of adding, subtraction, multiplication, and division and all basic units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Previous work experience in radio Dispatch and/or Emergency Response or equivalent preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Area familiarity of the resort is a plus.
• Pass a background check
• Working knowledge of Tweeter, Instagram, and editing softwear.

Preferred Skills:      

Emergency Response Accreditations.
