Data Technician

LOCATION: Downtown Portland

SALARY: $22/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION: Well-known large organization in Downtown Portland has an immediate need for some to assist their Compliance Data Management (CDM) team with interpretation, audit, and management of contractor plat maps to confirm field inspection activities. Position will require one to review marked-up paper maps against expected results to determine where discrepancies may exist, and they will enter information from those maps into an electronic filing system, and answer questions from inspection contractors in the field via phone and email. Ideal hours are Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm. Position is expected to last until approximately the end of January.

Required Experience:
Proven aptitude for learning new skills.
Basic math and reading skills.
Basic ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a computer.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and documented instructions.
Ability to communicate clearly via verbal and documented means.

Preferred Experience:
Ability to read and interpret maps and construction drawings.
Knowledge of natural gas utility industry.

General essential Function:
Ability to access, input, and retrieve input from a computer.
Ability to read and interpret maps and construction drawings.

Position specific essential functions:
Review maps returned from contractors to confirm inspected gas system facilities.
Uses map interpretation skills to detect and report potential data discrepancies.
Enters information interpreted from maps into an electronic filing system.
