About this job
Our customer, manufacturers of custom wood products, shipped throughout the United States and Canada from their Lake City, PA facility, is hiring a Machine Operator (FInal Inspection) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to train in the art of woodworking from veterans of the trade
- Pay: $9.00/hr
- Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
Responsibilities Include:
- Set up, program, operate, or tend computerized or manual woodworking machines, such as three-headed and orbital sanders, drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, planers, or wood-nailing machines
- Sand custom wood products according to high quality standards and specifications
- Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges
- Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly, monitor operation and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications
- Examine raw woodstock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standard
Requirements:
- Steel toe boots required
- Have a high standard for quality workmanship and strong attention to detail
- Able to follow directions, diagrams and blueprints
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic needed
- Able to work as a member of a team
