If you are an experienced CNC machinist we have a great opportunity available in Mooresville, NC. A great company is looking to bring in a new candidate on 3rd shift in a temp to hire role. The job description is listed below:
Position Summary
Set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal slugs or bar stock.
Essential Functions

Study blueprints, layouts or charts, and job orders for information on specifications and tooling instructions.
Select cutting tools and tooling instructions, according to written specifications or knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on machines, using hand tools, and verify their positions with measuring instruments.
Lift metal stock or work pieces manually or using hoists, and position and secure them in machines, using fasteners and hand tools.
Compute unspecified dimensions and machine settings using shop mathematics.
Load appropriate CNC programs from achive control library.
May edit CNC programs to improve quality, reduce cycle times, or improve efficiency of machine.
Start and operate lathe or turning machines and observe operations to ensure that specifications are met.
Adjust machine controls and change tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
Step machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances.
Turn valve handles to direct the flow of coolant onto work areas.

Requirements

Candidates must be able to read blueprints in metrics, experience with CNC lathes and mills, and experience with CNC programming.
