Job Overview:

 

The HR Generalist assists in the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: staffing, departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Engage with employees and respond appropriately to Human Resources inquiries
  • Clearly and confidently represent policies and procedures to associates and business partners
  • Monitor employee relations across shifts
  • Input, track and maintain employment information for associates
  • Partner with Operations and Finance regarding policies and staffing
  • Liaise with new hires and process new hire paperwork
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and functions 
  • Coordinate drug testing and background screens 
  • Assist in the coordination of business meetings and company functions 
  • Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with company standard 
  • Contribute to positive employee relations
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Skilled at HRIS, including Peoplesoft and Kronos
  • Advanced ability in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven Leadership /teamwork skills 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information 
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and labor relations strategies 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Attention to detail /Analytical skills 
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends 
  • Ability to make good decisions and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and conflict management with ability to work with multiple business partners at all levels
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities 
  • Coordination of people and resources 
  • Team player attitude

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 2-3 years working in the field of Human Resources required

  • HRIS, including Peoplesoft and Kronos

  • Evidence of leading a team and working well with others

  • Operations or distribution experience a plus
