Hunter Mix Flavorist Ice cream
Summary:
The primary purposes of this position is to flavor the ice cream mix for the freezing and packaging process along with the additional processes surrounding flavoring of the ice cream, plus must have the skills and job flexibility to operate fillers, packaging equipment or the CIP systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  1. Sanitize lines, tanks and circuits needed for production at the start of the production process.
  2. Flavor mix according to established recipes as called for by the daily production schedule.
  3. Wash and sanitize the empty mix silos as the become available to enable quick turnaround for the mix-making department
  4. Organize and monitor the 40 degree cooler, keeping area neat and clean. Keeping track of ingredients stored in the cooler and rotate these items adhering to a first in first out basis.
  5. Stage and provide added ingredients to production lines for the flavors being produced .
  6. Preparation of any added ingredients a product being packaged may require, including straining fruit, blending nut products or brining in product stored in the freezer just before use.
  7. Ensuring that the proper mix is in the correct tank by coordinating and receiving documentation from the lab concerning the mix in the silo.
  8. Insure all mix is deemed within spec by the QA lab according to Hunter Farms standards before pumping any mix to the flavor vats.
  9. Maintain concise, clear and accurate records regarding the amount of mix pumped, ingredients added to the mix along with their lot number and a running inventory of the mix in the silos.
  10. Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
  11. Meets company established attendance policy, and performs essential job functions throughout the established scheduled and extended work hours, as well as during inclement weather conditions, when demand requires.
  12. Abides by all company mandated safety/health rules and regulations.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
  14. Follows all Good Manufacturing Practice requirements and complies with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other associates of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of VLM time system.
