Description

Driver Lead
The Driver Lead is responsible for leading and training the drivers in their daily distribution activities as well as delivering product to both large and small format accounts on a route for advance product sales. In addition, maintaining strong customer rapport, ensuring quality service and effective merchandising of Dr Pepper Snapple Group brands

Position Responsibilities
  1. Provide relief coverage (vacation, sick, and injury absences) for any routes in designated area.
  2. Develop and maintain a complete schedule of all approved vacation, floating holiday, and any other paid time off to ensure complete coverage of all routes.
  3. Act as primary trainer for new drivers to include the full course of training as well as follow-up.
  4. Conduct a quarterly ride with each driver in assigned group to assist in their development.
  5. Conduct periodic training sessions for all drivers in the department covering but not limited to safety, large and small format, and communication skills.
  6. Assist the Distribution Supervisor in the day to day operation of the team utilizing Route Manager, Road Net, Appacheta, as well as tracking PVA and other KPI’s.
  7. Learn all aspects of the Distribution Supervisor duties, including labor reports, and act as a fill in for Distribution Supervisor as needed.
  8. Participate in ongoing leadership and management training.
  9. Build relationships with account managers and improve productivity.
  10. Cross train in other departments and/or job functions to gain a better understand of all departments to better prepare for future opportunities.
  11. Develop and maintain good Company image in the trade and industry to achieve the Company’s objective for the overall growth and availability of Dr Pepper Snapple Group brands.
  12. Notify Route Manager of any mechanical problems that occur on vendors, or any changes in account status.


Compensation: $20.65 per hour

Schedule : Monday- Friday

Qualifications

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 21 years of age or older
  • 2 years delivery experience and dealing with the public
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
