About this job
The Product Demonstrating Clerk will prepare, receive, cut and display product for customer's consumption while describing the product toencourage purchase. This individual will work with a variety of departments throughout the store. This position will require a flexible schedule that will include weekends.
PRODUCT DEMONSTRATOR DUTIES
1. Greet and assist customers and co-workers in a courteous manner.
2. Prepare food for sampling.
3. Be familiar with the items in your department so you can accurately and courteously answer customer questions.
4. Know where the product is located and know the make up of the product that you are sampling.
5. Make decisions concerning product display to make the item the most visually appealing to our customer.
6. Unload or load carts.
7. Operate and maintain any small appliances needed for demo.
8. Transport product from coolers, freezers or shelf to demo station.
9. Keep demo station clean/free of trash and clutter.
10. Always wear sanitary gloves when sampling product.
11. Always heat products to the correct temperature to avoid any safety hazard.
12. Know and implement the Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
13. Understand, comply and practice all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your
store.
14. Assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules.
15. Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions
16 Promote department sales by suggesting additional products and offering samples.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment as required.
2. Reaching, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 10 lbs.
3. Pushing and pulling Demo Cart and grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 10 lbs.
4. Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
5. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.
6. Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
