Ski School Sales Specialist (KSBS) – Winter – FT / PT – Northstar, CA

The Kids Ski School Sales Specialist is responsible for reservations, sales, and fulfillment of Northstar’s premier Kids Ski & Board School.  This is a small and tight knit department that works closely as a team to help create the Experience of a Lifetime for our guest.  As a Kids Lessons Specialist, you will receive a high level of guest interaction and will be the face of our Kids Ski and Board School! We are looking for guest service oriented individuals who are positive, outgoing, operate with a high level of computer proficiency, have a passion for the outdoors, are well disciplined, and take pride in their work.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently process lift access products and children's group lessons

Comfortable with requesting guest information and data required to complete transactions

Comfortable and confident dealing with families, kids, and their parents while creating a fun and engaging atmosphere

Ability to learn, understand and effectively communicate with the guest about multiple product types and easily adapt to changing pricing and product offerings

Make suitable recommendations on products to meet the guests’ needs and the business objectives

Ability to handle high volume of customer interaction while delivering exceptional service; internal & external

Create a fun and professional work experience while communicating in a courteous and respectful manner

Professionally assist and follow through with resolution of guest complaints; handle concerns and suggestions

Perform daily sales and closing and be held responsible for end of day point of sale audit

Work on a computer with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

Must be able to interact with and engage the guest while working on a computer at the same time

Follow company/department policies and procedures

Participate in resort and departmental trainings and development courses

Willing to cross-train and work in all areas/locations of PSS

Take initiative to perform duties which facilitate operations and maintain cleanliness of your work area while paying attention to detail

Promote and embrace Vail Resort’s Mission and Values; provide a safe work environment; implement Vail Resort’s mountain service essentials, strategies, policies and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Proficient on Microsoft applications and/or POS software

Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English

Typing skills with an emphasis on data collection

Ability to answer questions and speak intelligently about all resort products

Fun, outgoing personality traits

Take timeliness and deliverable tasks seriously

Cash handling experience

Ability to develop a quick rapport with high end clientele

Ability to stay calm in busy and stressful situations

Must be at least 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a work permit

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience with (resort) POS software

Experienced and/or conversational in a foreign language

Previous guest service experience

College Degree
