Bookkeeper

A local non-profit is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team. Since 1927 this organization has set the standard for community participation by landlords who provide affordable and quality housing, by offering membership based resources, education, and advocacy to landlords and rental agencies in the residential rental business.

Location: Portland, OR 97220

Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour to start, with a review and possible increase upon 90 days to hire.

Looking for a Bookkeeper who can perform the job duties of accounts payable, accounts receivable, dealing with merchant services, preparing bank deposit information, payroll, etc.  The right match will be someone that can successfully meet daily, monthly, and annual deadlines, while maintaining daily needs of this position.  Additional qualifications would be knowledge of QuickBooks software, previous experience in the rental housing industry is highly preferred, a team player, self starter, and someone with great customer service skills.

Additional Position Requirements:

- Manage electronic membership files for accuracy, including dates for renewal and cancellations.

- Handle Workers Comp reporting and payments.

- Work with vendors to ensure proper W-9's are on file.

- Assist the Office Manager with human resources related needs, such as setting up new hires on QuickBooks to process payroll, and benefits sytems.

- Work with company Treasurer to produce documents for board meetings and respond to board/committee requests for information in a timely manner.

- Track donation amounts for designated charities.

- Assist with answering phones and helping customers and members, as needed.

- Other duties as assigned.
