There will be no benefits offered. • This position provides a variety of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education program. • The position also interacts with and provides instructional, registration, and intake orientation – related services for potential and current students and faculty on a daily basis. Typical Duties and Responsibilities General Employee Responsibilities • Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and laws • Comply with Northeast State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents policies, procedures, and guidelines • Comply with SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) standards and guidelines • Promote and maintain College and TBR Mission, Vision, and Values  • Promote and comply with Northeast State Community College SAFE Campus programs • Maintain digital calendar and archive annually on June 30. Provide supervisor with access to calendar and an archived copy of calendar for annual performance review • Seek efficiencies and continuous improvement in both position and personal growth • Lead/promote College and TBR initiatives as they relate to this office • In all duties assigned, show a commitment to quality, customer service, and Northeast State Community College: to include students, College employees, and the community served by Northeast State  • Be an active and contributing part of the Northeast State Team • Follow professional code of conduct and ethics; maintain professional dress in compliance with expectations of the position • Complete other assignments as directed by supervisor/President  • Utilize effective people skills in working with internal and external customers Specific Role and Responsibilities • Demonstrates ability to multi-task • Assist with graduation • Assist with student registration, assessment, orientation/counseling • Performs general office duties; filing, faxing, and disbursement of administrative, and instructional materials • Assist with ordering materials and supplies  • Organizes and maintains confidential program and student files as well as report documentation • Maintain office equipment and supply inventories • Prepares and assists with fiscal processes • Maintain technical knowledge by engaging in opportunities to improve or increase skills • Contributes to team efforts • Performs other duties as assigned •Complete other assignments as directed by supervision. Required Qualifications • High school diploma or HSE (High school equivalency) required • Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook • Knowledge of and skill in using data entry software • Strong oral and written communication skills • Evidence of interpersonal/ customer service skills • Accepts new tasks and responsibilities in a positive/professional manner • Organizational and analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines • Skill in operation of general office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system etc.) • Assists with scheduling, proctoring, and scoring State-required tests (CASAS, HiSET OPT) Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in an adult education environment • Operate electronic mail systems and coordinate the flow of information internally and externally • Maintain class, staff, and event schedules • Setup and maintain paper and electronic filing systems Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics Pay Rate$12 - $15 per hourPosting Date10/06/2017Closing Date10/20/2017Open until FilledNoSpecial Instructions to Applicants Please submit the names and email addresses for a minimum of three references.
