AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Engineer III-- HVAC/Plumbing for immediate employment in the Roanoke, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Lead the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems for commercial and governmental facilities
+ Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations
+ Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents
+ Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction inspections, and responding to client requests
+ Work within a project team environment
+ Maintain and organize all project related documentation
+ Coordinate work with other project disciplines
+ Plan and organize work that follows a defined process
+ Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client and industry standard practices
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
+ 5+ years of experience experience with an engineering firm designing HVAC and for plumbing commercial and institutional facilities
+ Must be eligible to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance
+ The ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local building codes
+ AutoCAD experience
+ Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
+ Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills
+ Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques
+ Physically able to climb ladders and enter utility manholes, tunnels, and other mechanical equipment spaces
+ Must possess a valid driver's license
+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
+ Valid Professional Engineer license recognized by a state licensing board
+ BIM experience or certification
+ Department of Defense (DoD) clearance
+ Federal, DoD or healthcare project experience strongly desired
+ Experience with BIM (Revit or AECOsim) software strongly desired
