POSITION PURPOSE -

The Sr Financial Analyst: HD.Com has responsibility for all aspects of the HD.Com P&L for a $350M-800M Merchandising portfolio. The Sr Financial Analyst works closely with the Online Merchant and Merchandising Vice President to set the financial and strategic business goals that will drive the online business. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable presenting and defending their analyses to senior leadership. The Sr Analyst splits his or her time between the following three activities: planning and forecasting; analysis/reporting; and strategy development and implementation.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • Financial Planning and Forecasting for single or multiple HD.COM Departments
  • Interfacing with Merchants/MVP/EVP/SVP/VP/Director of Finance
  • Support Director Finance and VP Finance preparing analysis and presentations
  • Special projects; Creating financial spreadsheets for ad hoc analysis

This position typically reports to a Sr Manager
Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.
Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.
Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems.
Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial analysis, strategic thinking, and presentation skills
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to understand Merchandising/Retail Strategy
  • Strong ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence without authority
