BASIC PURPOSE: The Merchandising Pricing Analyst will support the pricing initiatives that directly impact revenue and profitability across the Merchandising and Operations Departments. This individual will contribute to the vision, goal setting, implementation and delivery of future pricing and analytical functions.  This position also provides pricing insight to the Category Management Team to ensure consistent execution of Love’s pricing strategy with the goal of maximizing sales, profit or units.  Collaborate with Category Management in defining, forecasting and analyzing possible pricing actions.     

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze volume, revenue and profit to create demand forecasting models to forecast merchandise sales
  • Use SAS to design statistical experiments and measure the uplift from price changes by matching test & control stores
  • Take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Love’s pricing strategy
  • Support the creation and maintenance of pricing rules or policies
  • Coordinate with Category Management to ensure alignment with the category and pricing, rules or strategies
  • Create and present pricing projects to Merchandising as well as other cross-functional teams
  • Use data visualization tool (Tableau) to design analytical dashboards for our KPIs and develop data-driven recommendations
  • Participate and/or lead competitive benchmarking initiatives
  • Collaborate with Category Managers, Operations and IT to ensure effective retail pricing
  • Participate in field visits to understand internal and competitive pricing strategies and execution
  • Lead future system integration projects as it pertains to pricing
  • Support any existing and future reporting or analytical needs
  • Other Duties As Assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • BA/BS minimum, Masters preferred, in a relevant field, such as mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, marketing, management information systems, business administration, engineering or other quantitative fields.
  • 1 - 3+ years’ experience preferred in retail, sales, marketing or operations with exposure to pricing systems and methodologies
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of retail pricing systems helpful
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles and issue resolution techniques
  • NCR Enterprise Retail Merchandise Systems experience a plus

  • Ability to devise an analytical approach to solving business problems
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and basic pricing principles such as price elasticities, promotional uplift, cannibalization and affinities
  • General understanding of the retail business environment
