The Analyst, Space Management designs and delivers store cluster specific planograms ensuring presentation and category criteria are met. This position designs and delivers store specific and prototypical merchandise plans ensuring format strategies and criteria are met. Both the space and floor planning roles work closely together to ensure a final deliverable to store operations associates which meets quality control standards.
The Analyst, Space Management defines and executes each retail format s strategies and criteria in conjunction with competitive benchmarks and analytics, to develop and maintain sales floor layouts and planograms within the assigned areas

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops merchandising rule sets to generate high volumes of quality planograms that consistently meet various business requirements
  • Executes quality control measures for planograms ensuring accuracy of store assignments, compliance with strategic vision and/or corporate standards.
  • Applies experience in constructing formulas within software applications (ex. Microsoft Excel) to produce compound filters, equations, if/then statements, etc. to generate planograms and/or merchandising plans maximizing productivity
  • Provides deep analytical analysis using, but not limited to, Nielsen POS, NPD and Spectra data, to look for opportunities to develop a customer centric approach to the category. Consistently performs complex and highly detailed work with accuracy and precision
  • Takes an active role in learning and utilizing all appropriate tools and levers to maximize space productivity, minimize unproductive inventories and ensure that financial targets are met. Actively strives to identify opportunities and make recommendations to optimize space productivity
  • Consistently maintains Merchandise Planning Criteria including in depth competitive reviews for assigned business areas with consideration for Key Performance Indicators, layout, space allocation, item placement and customer experience
  • Actively participates in continual process improvement, evaluates planogram effectiveness and makes recommendations to maximize workflow efficiencies. Finds causal factors that can constrain performance and profits. Challenges the status quo and strives to deliver process improvements
  • Provides store support regarding planograms. Acts with a strong sense of urgency to anticipate customer s needs. Takes responsibility to finding lasting solutions to difficult problems
  • Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with Merchant, Inventory and Store Operations teams. Earns trust of key executives across the organization and store leadership teams. Works cross-functionally to gain alignment on planograms in accordance to strategic objectives while achieving the highest possible profitability of SHC real estate
  • Develops and manages vendor relationships (vendor supported categories) to support planogram development that meets corporate business standards. Coordinates projects as needed with Category Captains assigned to designated areas


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree
1-2 years of related experience
18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelors degree or signficant work toward a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline: Economics, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science
  • Desire to create and influence change via behavior and enthusiasm in work active participant in implementation of processes and driving mindset changes to improve productivity and/or profitability
  • Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel Skills - experience with writing complex formulas or analytical models
  • Exceptional Analytical Skills & financial literacy
  • Strong Presentation, Verbal and Written Communication Skills - must excel at communicating complex information in simple to understand yet actionable ways (words/numbers/pictures); must be proficient at communicating across all levels across the organization (including senior management)
  • Strong attention to detail and sound problem solving skills for technical and business issues
  • Conflict Resolution Skills - Able to mediate differences of opinion and utilizing/presenting data to minimize opinion based decisions.
  • Technically minded structured logical thinking required to write formulas to be effective with planogram generation
  • Strong systems thinker - ability to quickly understand the potential implications that a specific change could have on an overall business process
