Production Line Operator for Wheelchair Manufacturer

Line Operator Seasonal Temp position (approx. 2 months)
Pay Rate: $13.00
Hours/Days:6:00 am to 4:30pm M-Thurs. some Fridays (will be notified usually 24 hours ahead of time)
MUST BE COMPUTER FRIENDLY - This position is part of a stationary assembly, not assembly line, to build wheelchair chassis.
This is a short time assignment but if you work hard and show interest past temps have usually been either asked to stay or called back when a position is available. Most of the people on the line started as temps.
Job Description: MUST BE COMPUTER FRIENDLY Uses simple hand tools like battery powered screwdriver, metric wrenches (must be familiar with metric) rubber hammer, Philips and regular screwdriver etc to assemble wheelchairs. Must be team oriented. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Wheelchairs are built in stages and are custom made to the person ordering them. Sometimes a picture is attached so the team knows who they are building it for. Each stage has a desk with a computer and a RO scanner. The worker scans the information about what he/she is assembling; the computer tells them what parts to use. When completed it's noted in the computer what is done so the next person knows what needs to be finished. This position is the same part of the assembly each time, sometimes it's traded with another team member just so they won't get bored with doing the same stage each time. Dress Code: Pants, shorts, t-shirts are fine, look clean. Professional Plant. CLIMATE CONTROLLED!
30 minute lunches, two 15min. breaks that are paid for. Cafeteria on premises
Beautiful modern plant with cafeteria in the middle of it. All employees walk through the front door. Everything is tied to computer log ins and scanners so must be computer friendly.
Each assembly station is well lit, lots of air flow, climate controlled, stress pads on floor, fully stocked tool cabinets, don't need to bring any tools. Must be team oriented.
Only one part was heavier than 30lbs., if needed, someone could help worker lift it
All positions have team members to help them when needed, there is always help available if needed.
All workers are allowed to listen to music through earbuds as long as they can hear teammembers.
