Whelan Security is looking for a talented and driven leader to manage our service in WASHINGTON, DC!

The SST/SCC Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the management, supervision and general operation of the Security Solutions Team (SST) and Security Control Center (SCC). He/she will become actively engaged in all business operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. The PM shall act as the Whelan liaison between functional area groups, the client, vendors and customers. He/she will be responsible for the development of materials, training and implementation of programs at clients locations to ensure effective change. The PM will have an intricate working knowledge of all team members’ roles and responsibilities. The Project Manager role is 100% tactical and operational. The Project Manager is expected to build upon a culture of employee engagement and set the example for all employees in the assigned account of servant leadership and personal commitment to the Whelan Values.

Qualifications

Provide documented history of:
  • Four years’ experience in corporate environment; focused up customer-service, product management and dynamic leadership
  • Three years of documented experience in control center, command center, security communications center or similar environment in a supervisory, or management role.
  • Two years of working knowledge of access control systems, closed-circuit television systems, radio communications, telecommunications and security systems
Possess a proven record of success associated with the ability to:
  • Work independently, and lead others toward common goals and objectives.
  • Achieve desired outcome to common workplace problems.
  • Operate in a high-stress environment, yet meet set deadlines.
  • Use of computer aided programs to assist with problem-solving, status reports and timelines.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibility to appropriate team members.
Candidates must demonstrate a stable work history and pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state, and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessments, interviews, past employment verification, and a personality profile (behavioral assessment).

Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Criminal Justice, Mass Communication or related field.
  • Certification in the field of computer programming and/or networking
  • Possess and maintain any/all licenses, certifications, certificates required by law
