Analyst, Pricing - Centralized Pricing & Special Projects

The Pricing Special Project team within Central Pricing team is responsible for planning and implementing strategic pricing initiatives. The team analyzes transaction data and develops pricing strategies to optimize store performance, business units' profitability and member engagement. The team serves to support centralize pricing team, merchandising, strategic initiative teams, finance and business units across both Sears and Kmart. The analyst will support all testing, analysis and execution for special projects including experimental designs and business performance analysis with insights.

Responsibilities:

• Gathers data and performs complex manipulations to data sets to create thoughtful, and robust business analyses.
• Performs large volume of transaction, item level analysis.
• Maintains and improve store level pricing recommendation model.
• Creates testing and learning analytic methods and develops consistent process of analysis.
• Use strong analytical skills to provide insights as well as recommendations to drive profitability and improve store performance.
• Develops hypotheses and design experimental tests for pricing actions.
• Analyzes issues, develops insights and formulates action plans based on learnings.
• Develops partnerships across the business and functional areas of the organization.

• Coordinates with business partners to identify and prioritize areas for analysis.
• Performs ad hoc analysis as requested.

Required Skills:

• BS/BA or Master Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or other related fields.
• Proficient in SQL and experience using HIVE
• Working knowledge of R or other statistical tools
• Advanced Excel skills
• Data mining, business analytics, statistical analysis and machine learning experience
• Intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Works effectively both individually as well as a member of a cross-functional team
