The HR Generalist will support multiple business groups at the Corporate location of Sears Holdings by assisting with the execution of people initiatives, providing internal support and driving HR functional excellence with a specific focus on tactical implementation of HR initiatives, projects and programs. The HR Generalist is responsible for daily activities related to the support of designated business partners by providing timely information and appropriate action recommendations on a variety of HR issues including policy interpretation, employee relations, direct business partnership with various business leaders, leaves of absences, benefits, compensation, performance management, talent management and succession planning.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Reviews and resolves less complex associate relations issues
* Prepares and processes promotions, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained
* Develops salary recommendations in partnership with the Human Resource Manager/Director
* Submits human resource transactions, such as terminations, pay changes, data corrections, position changes, people tree changes and follows up to ensure each transaction entered has been captured in the system
* Performs data gathering, tracking and reporting, through our HRIS system or through manual tracking if needed
* Interfaces and partners with HR departments and other company departments to ensure timely and efficient resolution of HR issues and in facilitating projects to improve processes and internal member services
* Assists associates and managers with HR questions and concerns
* Schedules and conducts exit interviews
* Supports projects for human resource related initiatives to support the business unit needs
* Proficient in HR policies and procedures, providing policy-related guidance to associates and managers
* Performs other duties as assigned

* Analytical skills, with a track record of identifying potential issues and formulating recommendations
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding, high expectation environment while maintaining accuracy
* High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
