IT Business Systems Analyst (Contract) (17020916) Description

Position Overview:

The IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for value advocacy and requirements management for IT Systems, Infrastructure, and Security projects. This person works to ensure effective delivery by eliciting both technical and business requirements and creating the associated artifacts for technical systems. The IT Business Systems Analyst identifies, documents, and prioritizes requirements by working with all levels of the organization. Drawing on expertise built from working with Product Owners, Technical resources, and other Stakeholders; the IT Business Systems Analyst often steps in to advocate for the highest value work and answer questions for the project team. This role requires the ability to work on multiple projects that are complex in nature simultaneously.


Responsibilities:

•Strategically apply business analysis experience to understand, describe, and deliver on the value proposition of opportunities and projects

•Identify, gather, and document business, functional, and technical requirements by facilitating meetings with cross-functional groups of stakeholders

•Create artifacts as appropriate to the success of the project. Including but not limited to process flows, integration diagrams, user stories, use cases, and wire frames

•Manage and own requirements through the full project lifecycle including answering questions through execution to ensure quality delivery

•Identify and manage changes to requirements.

•Manage conflicts and issues to resolution.

•Validate the deliveries of team members meet business, functional, and technical requirements

•Oversee and/or lead projects from a business analysis perspective, provide status reports if necessary and act as primary point of contact for stakeholder communications.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

•Possess strong requirements gathering and analysis skills for both business and functional requirements

•Have experience advocating for the business owners, product owners, and users throughout implementations

•Have experience working in both iterative and sequential (non-iterative) project methodologies

•Be able to communicate effectively with external business partners and internal teams to participate in the delivery of project requirements

•Work effectively with other colleagues

•Listen effectively and communicate with candor and honesty

•Possess the ability to acquire, compile, and evaluate large amounts of data

•Be able to triage problems in a practiced, measured, best practice

•Be able to multitask effectively

•Possess a B.A./B.S. in MIS or Computer Science, or an equivalent in education and experience

•Have five (5) or more years of IT and technical business analysis work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of infrastructure and/or security experience

•Enjoy minimal travel

•Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and interact at all levels

•Ability to multitask with changing priorities in a cross-functional environment

•Ability to work effectively under very broad direction with minimal supervision

•Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment

•Excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal and time management skills
