Business Intelligence Manager - Full-time / Part-time

The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for establishing enterprise BI solutions that deliver diverse reporting and analytic capabilities all of Chipotle both at Headquarters and in the field. He/she brings extreme passion and advocacy to building a culture of data driven decision making through outstanding information delivery solutions. He/she leads business intelligence to ensure enterprise BI solutions are reliable, scalable, flexible, low maintenance and above all providing the key insights to the right people at the right time.

We are looking for a leader to drive a team in building out our business intelligence platform, to build and support long term business intelligence strategy. He/she will be responsible to lead a team for all facets of architecture, design, and data delivery. This manager will own the full suite of Business Intelligence reporting solutions, including Microsoft BI Stack and Tableau, while collaborating with the leadership team on the overall architecture.

Responsibilities

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Being the advocate of BI and Analytics for data driven decision making across Chipotle through strategic leadership and guidance.

•Being responsible for the end to end ownership of a business intelligence reporting team, including delivery of high quality data and reporting solutions, aligning to overall strategy, promoting best practices, and mentoring and developing your team.

•Designing and building Business Intelligence strategies for strong user experience and adoption while providing data and insights to drive key business decisions.

•Defining scope, project plans and schedules for projects across the Business Intelligence portfolio. Maintaining and updating the Business Intelligence project portfolio in response to changes in priority, scope and progress

•Managing the release process across the Business Intelligence portfolio

•Tracking and reporting progress on these projects within the team and to key stakeholders from start to finish.

•Managing escalations, change controls and risks across all levels and parties

•Driving innovation on development of tools, reporting improvements, and automation, and creating new insightful reports.

•Conducting research into current and emerging business intelligence technologies and issues in support of BI needs. Working across the organization to ensure that the right data is collected and processed to enable smart, data driven decisions.

•Efficiently managing reporting environments to ensure meeting customer needs and supportability, scalability, and stability.

•Designing and deployment of reporting infrastructure leveraging Microsoft BI stack and Tableau.

•Being a thought leader and identifying what key performance metrics should be utilized in the business.

•Supporting team and stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Business Intelligence strategy, best practices and delivery.

•Constantly looking for opportunities to improve current processes or find efficiencies by applying industry best practices.

•Maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction through the implementation, investigation, analysis, training and relationship building efforts.

•Clearly communicating and driving discussions on data and insights, context, and implications with business and technology partners.

The ideal candidate will:

•Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline, or an equivalent in education and experience.

•Possess extreme passion for using data to uncover insights and drive business performance.

•7+ years of relevant experience in a business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology. Strong understanding of Business Intelligence Infrastructure

•5+ years of experience using business intelligence reporting tools. Including creation and automation of Enterprise Scale dashboards, standard reports, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports to provide key business insights for entire organization.

•3+ years leading technical business intelligence team with strong track record delivering results in fast-paced, rapidly-evolving organization

•Experience in designing and delivering large cross functional custom reporting solutions by managing technical teams. Preferably Tableau enterprise deployments with strong user adoption.

•Understanding of Reporting and DW implementation best practices and application development best practices (SDLC & Agile methodologies)

•Provide technical knowledge, project management and leadership to implement the solution with ability to understand project scope, evaluate resources requirements, estimate level of effort, prioritize projects, create plans, lead team, and monitor progress.

•Be familiar with Data Visualization best practices.

•Have experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment.

•Possess a strong foundation in data analytics.

•A strong commitment to data governance and security.

•Have attention to detail to ensure the highest level of quality/rigor in solutions.

•Possess the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically and systematically.

•Have the ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team, perform effectively and demonstrated willingness to support the team on all levels to get the job done.

•Restaurant industry experience a plus.
