Job Description

MISSION

Provides the ultimate guest experience of the Tommy Bahama brand in a specific geographic area of 60 plus Retail and/or Wholesale Department stores through excellent visual merchandising/presentation and selling skills training and strong leadership/partnership with the store, district and regional teams resulting in driving sales and profitability.

**The home location for this position is located in Dallas, TX**

KEY RESULTS AREAS
  • Drive branding and business objectives/sales through strong visual training and excellent execution at the market and store levels.
  • Lead the brand/visual execution in respective "visual" region through a combination of corporate and regional direction, visual talent/knowledge/experience, and specific market needs.
  • Establish a strong partnership with Regional Visual and Regional/District Store Managers relative to all matters of the regions business and branding objectives through store visits.
  • Establish strong partnerships with store management teams to understand each store's specific business needs.
  • Read and interpret relevant sales reports, develop action plans to address sales opportunities in respective assigned locations.
  • Identify store and/or market specific nuances to corporate direction. Develop and implement brand appropriate solutions to address these unique needs.
  • Regional expert on seasonal best practices that will drive business and profitability.
  • Partner with Store Managers in the interviewing and hiring of Retail Visual Merchandisers, Wholesale MSSAs and Selling Specialists- ensuring appropriate skill sets/experience levels are met.
  • Embrace and support company learning programs, and ensure ongoing training for Store Managers, Visual Merchandisers, Selling Associates and other store team members--with an emphasis on current brand/fashion/merchandising/visual trends relative to business objectives.
  • Assist RVM as necessary for store openings within region.
  • Accountable for personal organization and budget including travel.
  • Maintain awareness of each store's prop budget and/or inventories; advise store managers as necessary to ensure budget and prop inventory is controlled while meeting store needs.
  • General understanding of Tommy Bahama business practices, sales reporting, and computer systems, and the ability to apply this knowledge as appropriate to the position.
  • Promote awareness of loss prevention issues and asset protection.
  • Promote awareness of the condition of stores and maintenance needs to store and district/regional management.
  • Personally support each season's trends and the brand's forward direction through uniforming and personal appearance as outlined in the company dress code policy.
  • Provide relevant, actionable feedback to corporate visual and merchant teams.
  • Partner with Corporate Visual Team, Marketing, Regional Managers, District Managers, Island Managers, and Store Managers as needed to ensure that the brand is appropriately represented at all special events in the region.
  • Promote a safe environment through effective visual merchandising standards and practices.

EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION
  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years retail visual merchandising/presentation experience. (multi-unit experience prefered)
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated visual merchandising/presentation skills--detailed oriented and self-motivated to train execution to the highest standards.
  • Understanding of brand marketing and applying these principles to a retail environment.
  • Effective and innovative problem solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable of current fashion and visual merchandising trends and able to effectively interpret/apply to our brand.
  • Strong management, training, development, and motivation skills. Flexible, diplomatic facilitator with excellent communication skills and dedication to follow through.
  • Able to effectively interact, negotiate, and communicate across all levels of the company.
  • Understanding of basic retail business strategies and practices. Able to analyze retail reports and take action as necessary to adjust merchandising and presentation set ups.
  • Proficient with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), digital photography, and basic photo software.
  • Able to effectively multi-task and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills. Ability to set and achieve goals in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and process planning skills.
