This position supervises daily operations of Umbrella Bar and assists with supervision of Murdock’s Café with a focus on exceptional guest service.  The F&B Team Lead Supervisor will oversee the Bartenders at Umbrella Bar and will cover days off for the Assistant Manager of Murdock’s Café.  Together they will ensure that staff and the restaurant environments are meeting/exceeding the expectations of the Vail Brand Standards, as well as meeting/exceeding the goals measuring guest satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. 
  • Exercise supervisory authority over restaurant; Confer regularly with staff to coordinate activities, assign and check work, resolve problems, etc.
  • Accurately schedule staff to business level based on forecast
  • Investigates and resolves guest complaints
  • Assist with training of front of house food & beverage service personnel
  • Know and enforce local, state and federal regulations for the sale and distribution of alcohol
  • Hold and document daily pre-shift meetings and conduct all staff meetings as needed.
  • Supervise and assist as necessary with all operations, which may include: line set-up and restocking; food preparation, customer service; cleaning and organizing cooking, service and dining area; dishwashing; bartending, etc.
  • Order, receive, and maintain an appropriate inventory of food and supplies; which may include coordinating the transportation of goods.
  • Ensure that applicable health and safety procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Supervise and assist with the processing of daily receipts.
  • Monitor food and service to ensure that appropriate quality standards are maintained.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma together with minimum 2 years previous experience, or a combination of education and experience from which a comparable amount of knowledge is acquired.
  • Broad, basic knowledge and skills related to restaurant operations, including experience in ordering, inventory control, staff scheduling, cash reports and similar administrative or management functions.
  • Good administrative, math and supervisory skills. Some previous supervisory and budget administration experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of commercial food service equipment.
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and other Company personnel.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional wine, sprits and beer knowledge.  Adequate understanding of UDABC laws and private club management.
  • Food handlers and beverage service permits.
