The Landscape and Grounds Manager at the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is responsible for overseeing and working alongside a team of Landscape Technicians to ensure the completion of work orders in compliance with company standards – safety, quality, and operational. Landscape and Grounds Manager is a full-time, benefits-eligible position and reports to the Facilities Director.

• Maintain and develop the USNWC grounds including:
Hardscapes – roads, curbs and gutters; parking lots; walkways, paths, and stairs; fences and retaining walls, storm water structures, etc.
Softscapes – turf and ornamental plants; gardens, landscaped beds, and maintained natural areas; natural storm water structures, etc.
• Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems onsite
• Develop and administer appropriate pest control protocol
• Schedule, coordinate, lead, and supervise a team of Landscape Technicians
• Exercise caution and adhere to all safety standards in daily work; review safety procedures and perform compliance implementation as needed
• Actively develop and apply process improvement methodology in day-to-day operations
• Maintain records for inventories and in-house inspections
• Oversee project estimates and the purchasing, handling, and storage of project materials
• Assist other facilities crews, departments, and contractors as necessary
• Maintain availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Requirements

Job Requirements
* 2+ years supervisory experience in commercial grounds, landscape maintenance, or an equivalent education
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Additional experience in a specialized trade is beneficial - e.g. commercial landscape installation, grading/excavation, irrigation, pest management, etc.

Physical Requirements
* Ability to work outdoors for sustained periods of time under varying weather conditions
* Able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently
* Able to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds
