About this job
Seeking qualified Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for a project in the St Charles Parish area.
The I/E Technician is responsible for safely installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems (motor controls, power supplies, sensors, alarms, control logics, metering devices, programmable logic controllers).
Pay - Up to $33/hour DOE
Job Duties include but not limited to:
- Read and understand manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electronic and pneumatic devices.
- Assist as need in the installation, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs.
- Perform and schedule routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and major equipment repairs on all electrical equipment.
- Perform inspections of electrical switchgear.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors for bearing and electrical failure; Properly size and install wire and conduit.
- Assist in the update and maintenance of all site I/E Drawings.
What we look for in a qualified associate:
- AA degree in Instrumentation & Electrical and min 5 years hands on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and trade hazards
- Experience in reading, modifying and developing blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Computer knowledge and usage – PC and calculators.
- Dependable and committed to being at work for all scheduled shifts
- Reliable transportation
- Criminal background check will be run
- Drug free
This is 3-6 month project.
