Job Summary

This position provides advanced legal, administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys and other staff by producing accurate and timely legal and administrative work through a smooth running, well organized infrastructure.  

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence including pleading, briefs, opinions, complaints, administrative decisions, orders, and subpoenas
  • Review and edit documents for proper formatting and content as required by the court
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and materials for appearances and hearings
  • File documents, schedule hearings and docket cases
  • Composed routine correspondence, run and analyze reports,  maintain calendars and court dockets
  • Assist with research and provide information and technical assistance to others
  • Coordinate meeting arrangements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • High School Diploma or GED plus three years of full time experience as a legal secretary
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to do so in a concise manner regarding complex issues
  • Excellent detail-orientation, follow-up, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Willingness to take direction and independently follow through on instructions timely.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Advanced computer / technology literacy (specifically on Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and demonstrated experience electronic case records management .
  • High commitment to service excellence while maintaining high degree of integrity, ethics and judgement.
