Oshkosh Access is a segment of Oshkosh Corporation, which is a Fortune 500, multi-billion dollar company. The primary function of this position includes testing, developing, and supporting of new and existing JLG products. Technicians are required to install instrumentation and support test engineers in component level and full vehicle testing to provide proof of concept and design. Exemplary support to the customers of JLG Corporation and the Test and Development Lab is also expected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operate and maintain equipment and perform other general mechanical duties, such as complete component changes, modifications, teardowns, and reassembly.

* Conduct testing under the guidance of test engineers to determine capabilities of vehicles/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations

* Test and develop new vehicles and/or components, conduct safety and road ability inspections. Perform tests of systems and components to assure proper operation.

* Conceive and fabricate test fixtures, including establishing appropriate instrumentation and test sequence and procedures.

* Record test data utilizing both manual entry and data acquisition

* Investigate and trouble-shoot problems and participate in formulation of corrective action.

* Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and follow detailed test procedure

* Plan and schedule work activities to complete assignments in their order of priority to make effective use of time.

* Conceive and fabricate test fixtures

* Determine appropriate test instrumentation

* Perform lesser functions when necessary; vehicle maintenance, building maintenance, general housekeeping

* Provide world class on-site test and marketing support domestically and internationally

* Operate heavy equipment for the purpose of testing or material handling

* Communicate effectively.

* Follow established departmental and other required procedures.

* Willingly assists others as necessary to meet deadlines.

* Preserve high standard of safety during all aspects of job performance which includes exposure to personal and physical hazards on regular basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience

* 3-plus years related experience in mobile equipment with emphasis on electronics, print reading, and welding

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Proficiency in fabrication skills such as welding, use of machine shop equipment, etc. is highly desirable

* Familiarity with PC's and Microsoft Office products is a plus
