About this job

Under guidance from the warehouse lead and or supervisor, the Warehouse Utility Operator will move materials to and from the manufacturing operations area using manual pallet jack, powered industrial truck and or other material handling devices. Keep warehouse areas clean and organized. Load and operate garbage compactor, corrugate compactor, open top dumpsters and balers. Load baled seconds quality material and other recyclable materials on recycling trailers.

The primary responsibilities of the position include the following:
  • Keep warehouse area clean and organized removing waste streams. Meet all safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Operate manual pallet jack, powered industrial truck, and material handling devices as assigned to transport production waste and second quality products out of manufacturing areas. Manually handle cased goods around manufacturing area.
  • Load waste materials into compactor, open top dumpster and balers and ensure waste area is clean and organized; record waste information as required by GMP/QMSR's.
  • Empty all dock garbage containers and place loose or damaged cases in the partial area for reuse.
  • Must follow all safety rules and requirements to include proper lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing of proper PPE, etc
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.
  • Works with fellow operators as a team to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Meet or exceed quality standards and production schedule.
Qualification

Requirements for the position are as follows:
  • High school or GED; Trade school education, certification, or professional training highly desired
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds of weight throughout the workday; Must be able to work in a noisy and constantly changing environment; Must use Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety shoes, dust mask, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.); Must be able to work in elevated places and tight, small spaces.
  • Must be able and willing to learn new equipment; Must be able to read, write, speak in English; Must be able to interpret and execute company policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift or overtime as needed with minimal notification
