Senior Financial Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Analysis & Capital Planning: 

- Ability to understand, build and explain complex financial models (e.g. DCF, NPV, operating etc.)

- Assess the potential impact of new business initiative, capital allocation and new Shack development decisions

a. Propose and test hypotheses

b. Measure pre/post impact

c. Present and explain results

- Prepare payback calculations and evaluate performance vs. approved pro-forma financials

- Conduct market research and benchmarking against competitors

• Financial Planning: 

- Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates at both the individual Shack-level and at the corporate department level.

- Maintain, update, enhance and scenario test company forecast model

- Develop and model alternate financial scenarios/sensitivities to determine possible outcome scenarios.

• Reporting:                       

- Generate and organize prep materials for quarterly and annual earnings releases.

- Some ongoing monthly reporting to departmental heads 

Skills & Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics (or other analytical field of study) preferred
• Finance and valuation theory
• Deep financial modeling capabilities
• Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
• Ability to present any finding in concise/simple and informative manner
• Excellent oral, written, organizational (will need to prioritize different tasks) and interpersonal skills (will need to work with nearly every department)
• Team oriented
• Attention to detail

Experience:

• 2-4 years of working experience in an analytical or planning role including but not limited to: corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting
• Restaurant/retail industry experience a plus
