Part Time Corporate Security Officer

• Respond to emergency situations providing clear, calm, and decisive direction and provide medical care to the appropriate level of training/certification
• Manage access control; verify vendors, contractors, and other visitors have a business purpose to be on site
• Routinely patrol on foot and in vehicle the buildings and grounds of the complex
• Enforce vehicle and safety regulations
• Uphold procedures related to load integrity on inbound and outbound trailers
• Perform preliminary investigations involving safety and security events
• Properly document events that occur during each shift
• Initiate maintenance requests as needed
• Provide liaison assistance to emergency services personnel in an incident command role
• Protect company property, corporate assets and the welfare and safety of employees, visitors and vendors with a strong emphasis on customer service
• Observe surroundings in an effort to maintain safety, reduce shrink and prevent loss

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
• Ability to act with integrity and trust when dealing with employees and visitors
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and wellbeing of others
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain effective communication and composure in stressful situations
• Proven ability to effectively manage conflict
• Strong written communication skills for the purposes of composing detailed reports
• Technical aptitude and intermediate PC skills with Windows applications (including MS Office); must be able to navigate through multiple programs and screens efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
• Able to problem solve, anticipating, analyzing, and identifying problems, responding quickly when situations arise and preventing problems when possible
• Possess teamwork & diversity awareness by listening to others' points of view and recognizing and appreciating differences
   

What will set me apart from other candidates:

• Criminal Justice or related degree
• Security/Asset Protection or Law Enforcement experience
• Emergency response training/experience
• EMT Certification, CPR/AED/First Aid trained

Work environment: 

• Work includes sitting and/or standing for up to 4 hours without a break, walking, occasional bending and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment.  The average weight range of items lifted is 10-25 pounds with a maximum weight of force applied of greater than 50 pounds rarely. The work environment involves seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather.  The work may also include clearing snow from entrances and walk-ways.  May be exposed to various allergens.

• To maintain this position selected applicant must be able to successfully complete the following requirements: EMT Certification, AED/CPR/First Aid training & certification; successful completion of AP University training, including an evaluation process
