Overview

Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, clients and employees of Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium, Corporate Buildings and surrounding properties. Provide crowd control and enforce company policies while treating all guests, clients and employees with courtesy, dignity and respect. Protect company property.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the safety and security of the buildings and adjacent properties through mobile/foot patrol, stationary posts, CCTV monitoring, monitoring of fire panels and control panels, and traffic control.
  • Perform safety and security duties including protecting property, maintaining order, directing traffic, checking access passes, IDs, conducting parcel searches and pat-downs, and generally enforcing policies as outlined in SSTs (including alcohol related policies).
  • Respond to any emergencies (such as medical, fire, weather, etc), assisting guests as necessary, and helping coordinate evacuation procedures
  • Provide assistance to patrons and employees in need of medical attention, while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel. May be required to administer minor first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Provide security to artists, dignitaries and other VIPs.
  • Oversee parking areas, ensuring that only authorized vehicles are granted access.
  • Conduct safety inspections. Report safety hazards (including defective equipment) appropriately.
  • Prepare incident, accident & other reports that may be required at a specific post.
  • Provide on the job training to new security officers.
  • Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Background in law enforcement or security with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to complete security classroom and on-the-job training
Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must have valid CPR certification or attain certification within 90 days of start date.
  • Must have valid State of Tennessee Unarmed Security License or attain license in accordance with state law.
  • Valid TN driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record required.
