What you will do:

The Desktop Engineer will create and support a modern cloud-first workplace through the deployment and support of corporate endpoint devices.  This role is responsible for creating workplace efficiency through effective management of user endpoint technologies and systems.  This includes incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.  Desk side or remote support will be provided to Pei Wei users in the Restaurant Support Office as well as corporate users working remotely. 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as IT’s Ambassador to the Business
  • Protect, secure, and properly handle confidential data on user devices
  • User provisioning, hardware upgrades, terminations, and following established data retention procedures
  • Assign and track user licenses
  • Maintain hardware inventories
  • Create, maintain, and deploy system images to Windows endpoints
  • Package applications for remote, silent deployments
  • Receive and prioritize incoming incident requests from corporate users, communicating updates in a timely manner
  • Resolve all desktop support incidents within established service level agreements escalating requests to the appropriate IT team when appropriate
  • Document all solutions and publish to a user accessible FAQ or internal knowledgebase, as appropriate
  • Create step-by-step documentation for end users
  • Build strong working relationships with corporate users to set service level expectations and align support with business requirements
Requirements

What you need:

Experience:

  • 2 years of technical support experience within a corporate environment preferred
  • Experience supporting users with a remote support tool like LogMeIn, GoToSupport, Etc. preferred
  • Experience with application packaging and system imaging preferred
  • Experience working in a restaurant environment preferred
  • Previous experience creating operating systems images with MDT, ImageX, or other tools is desired

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Microsoft, A+, or other similar technical certifications highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred

Competencies:

  • Service-minded and responsive to users
  • Must have deep knowledge of technology across Windows and mobile platforms
  • Creative in technical solutions and possesses strong problem-solving skills
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to educate and inform user groups
  • Evangelize solutions within the company to champion adoption
  • Analytical skills to identify trends and dig into root cause of problems
