The Lead CAREGiver must be passionate about caring for seniors, has a proven track record for providing quality care to clients, can motivate others by being a positive role model, demonstrate professionalism, and live Home Instead. The Lead CAREGiver is a CAREGiver that provides additional support to the company by helping to train and develop CAREGivers and conducting CAREGiver to client introductions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the values of Trusted Care at Home, (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).

  • Give a one year commitment as a Lead CAREGiver from February 1, 2018 until January 31, 2019.

  • Attend the Leadership Trainings February through November on the first Wednesday of each month at 4pm (July 2018 will be the second Wednesday of the month). You will be excused from your shifts to attend these paid trainings.

  • Speak in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner to all clients and employees.

  • Conduct CAREGiver training or shadowing sessions to CAREGivers at shifts or in the office as requested.

  • Provide support to the Quality Assurance team during Open Houses.

  • Be available two weekdays per week and one weekend per month after business hours to completed CAREGiver to client introductions between the hours of Monday through Friday 5p-10p and Saturday and Sunday 8a-10p.

    • The Staffing Department will call the Lead CAREGiver assigned for that day by 4pm to give assignments of introduction schedules; including plans of care, names, addresses, shift start times and CAREGivers assigned to the shifts. Lead CAREGivers assigned on Saturdays and/or Sundays will be given assignments by 4pm on Fridays.

    • Review the Plan of Cares for those clients for which you will be introducing a CAREGiver to.

    • Arrive at the client’s home 15 minutes before the CAREGiver shift starts to greet the CAREGiver and speak before entering the client’s home.

    • Introduce yourself and the CAREGiver to the client, review questions the client or CAREGiver may have, review the Client Journal and give a physical tour of the home.

    • Complete the CAREGiver Introduction form and submit to the Human Resource Manager by the following day.

    • Follow up with After-hours Supervisor with any immediate concerns.
       

      Experience Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a CAREGiver at Home Instead from CAREGiver hire date to Lead CAREGiver start date on February 1, 2018.
  • Must be in good standing with all training and HR documents.
  • Must attend all Open Houses
  • Preferably certified as a CNA or HHA.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Report issues to the Human Resource Manager as soon as they are uncovered, or the After-hours Supervisor during the weekend if necessary.

 

Critical Numbers:

  • Attending Open Houses
  • 100% accuracy of completing assigned CAREGiver to client introductions

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • This position must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by Trusted Care at Home, (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise)

  • This position must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively

  • This position must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines

  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills essential as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with management, colleagues, clients and CAREGivers
  • Knowledge of the senior care industry
  • Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor

 

Compensation:

  • Once hired as a Lead CAREGiver you will received an additional pay of $0.50 per hour in all shifts worked with Home Instead.
  • When completing CAREGiver to client Introductions and CAREGiver trainings at client’s homes, you will be paid $12.00 per visit for those completed Monday through Friday and $15.00 per visit when completed on Saturday or Sunday.
  • When attending Leadership Training sessions once per month you will be paid $12.00 per hour training.
